Carmen
Carmen, 38, lives in a free union with her husband; she has three children and lives with her family in a community in the municipality of San Pedro Sula, Cortes Department. Carmen works selling tortillas. She was motivated to start this business because of the need to generate higher family income. She’s currently requested a 3,000 Lempira loan to buy corn flour and fire wood. She states that this loan will help her become independent from flour vendors because they’ve been charging very high prices and this way this raw material will be less expensive. She is very grateful to ODEF and KIVA for the trust placed in her and her business.
