Ledovino is a 60-year-old resident of Pagadian City. He provides for his six children from the little amount of 10,000 PHP that he gains monthly from his poultry business which he has had for 30 years. However, this year he joined GDMPC, and is applying for a loan of 20,000 PHP to purchase livestock feed and other supplies. Ledovino wants to expand his business one day.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
