Imelda, 43, is married and has two children. She lives in Tukuran, Zamboanga del Sur. Imelda has managed and operated a retail business for five years. Each month, she earns 5,000 PHP from this work. She has requested a loan of 15,000 PHP to buy items such as noddles and milo to sell. Imelda has been a member of GDMPC since 2011. Imelda hopes that her small business will grow and become stable in her village.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
