Elma, 47, is married and has ten children. She's from Ozamis City. To make her living, Elma manages and cultivates a cassava production business. Elma has been, for 30 years, engaged in her business and she earns 10,000 PHP a month.
In 2010, Elma joined GDMPC. She applied for a loan of 16,500 PHP to buy farm fertilizer. Elma plans to use the additional revenue generated from the business to improve the general living conditions of her family.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
