Thua was born in 1974. She has four children who are learning at university, high school, secondary school, and primary school. Her husband grows rice.
Thua raises chickens to earn a living. She gains from it 2,500,000 Viet Nam dongs (VND) a month. Her family’s total earnings are about 5,000,000 VND per month.
She has participated in SEDA's credit program since 2008. In the last cycle she borrowed 9,632,000 VND and repaid the loan on time. In this loan cycle, she would like to borrow 10,080,000 VND to buy food for her chickens. She always wants to let her children go to school till higher education and enlarge her farm of chickens.
The Center of Small Enterprise Development Assistance (SEDA) is a non-profit organization whose vision is to create “a society without poverty.” Founded in 2004, SEDA provides microfinance services to low-income and disadvantaged people in rural areas of Hanoi and the northern provinces of Vietnam through its Binh Minh Micro-Finance Program.
