Warlito's main source of income comes from his rice production business. He is 53 years old, married and has four kids. He is from Taguitic, Kapatagan and has been farming there for three years, earning PHP 12,200 a month.
This year, Warlito joined GDMPC. Warlito is requesting a loan of PHP 40,000 which will be used to purchase fertilizers. He plans to use the additional revenue generated from the business to improve the general living conditions of his family.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
