Emelda is 46 years old and married with two children. She is from Kinuman Norte, Ozamiz City. For the past five years, Emelda has been a farmer who primarily raises and sells corn to make a living. She earns 6,000 PHP each month from her business. Emelda joined GDMPC in 2010.
Emelda is requesting a 14,000 PHP loan to purchase fertilizer such as manure. She plans to use the additional revenue generated with her loan to improve the general living conditions of her family.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
