Communal Bank LOS CUMPLIDOS is composed of eight members: five women and three men. They all have different lines of work.
Mrs. Aurora, 35, is the group’s president. She is married and has six children who are 14, 12, 11 (twins), 9 and 5 years old. She sells food in a town called Zanja de Honda. This is her second loan with this institution. Aurora will use this loan to invest in supplies for preparing food, such as rice, noodles, potato and oil in bulk. She is requesting this loan because she lacks the capital. Aurora faces the challenges of rising prices and shortages. She will use the loan to buy supplies for making food.

This is a Group Loan
In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.
