Margaret is a single mother of six children and none of her children goes to school. She also takes care of her cousins and grand daughters. She has a business selling charcoal and has been in this business for ten years. She generates additional income from a restaurant. She has applied for a loan of 1500000 Uganda shillings from MCDT SACCO to buy more bags of charcoal. She works from her home and sells retail to all categories of people and works seven days a week. Her major business challenges includes seasonality, thieves and defaulters. She aspires to become a wholesaler and also to start going to villages of Luwero district for charcoal. She resides in her own house and the family has access to electricity but no piped water. Her monthly expenses include school fees for the cousins and grandchildren.
