Mohammad is a 48-year-old Lebanese married man. He lives with his wife and five children; one of them is working. Mohammad’s family joins forces, trying to be supportive just to help him covering the heavy costs of life. Mohammad has eighteen years of experience in the agriculture field and started to work on his own tractor in 1997. He works on a free-lance basis and has a fair number of clients asking for his services.
Today, he’s in need of a loan from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l to perform the needed maintenance on his tractor and purchase new tires. He notes that this will develop his business and boost his returns. In the future, he plans to buy a modern tractor and better develop his business.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
