Jane is widowed and has five children, all of whom currently attend school. She lives in Kampala, Uganda, and she also looks after her grandchildren. For the past 15 years, Jane has been selling scrap metal wholesale and she works seven days a week. She has no other source of income. Jane rents a house with access to electricity and no running water and her major monthly expenses are school fees and rent. Her business challenges include transportation. Jane joined MCDT because of their low interest rates.
Jane is requesting a 500,000 UGX loan from MCDT- SACCO to buy scrap metal to sell. Her dream is to expand her business.
