Naser is a 52-year-old married man from Lebanon. He is living with his wife and four children attending school. Naser was serving with the Lebanese army a few years ago, and he's benefiting now from his retirement compensation. In 2006, and in order to supplement the family's income, he decided to start his own agricultural business. He owns lands in which he cultivates fruits and vegetables, especially oranges and lemons.
Today, he is asking to borrow a loan from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l. to perform the needed maintenance on the water station. Because of this station, he will be able to irrigate his harvest in a good way. This will certainly increase his business productivity by a fair percentage which will return higher profits. In the future, he plans to take more Kiva loans and expand his lands with a wider variety of fruits and vegetables.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
