Mylene is a 31-year-old resident of St. Cruz, Tangub City. She provides for her 2 children's needs from the small amount of PHP 5,000 she gains monthly from her poultry business, which she has operated for 5 years as an aid to her husband's income. Mylene became a member of GDMPC in 2010. She has applied for a loan of PHP 11,000 to purchase feed and other supplies. Mylene wants to expand her business one day.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
