Aisha is married and has five children, two of whom attend school. She lives in Kampala, Uganda. Aisha has been selling second-hand clothes in the market at retail for 10 years, working seven days a week. She also sells bananas as a side job.
Aisha is requesting a loan from MCDT-SACCO for 300,000 UGX, which she will use to purchase more second-hand clothes to sell. Her challenges include seasonality and thieves. Her dream is to expand her business and be able to buy more bales of clothes and also become a wholesaler. She joined MCDT because of transparency. She stays in a rented house with access to electricity but no piped water. Her major monthly expenses include paying rent and school fees.
