Eunice, 41, is a farmer in Nkubu county, where she lives with her husband and three children who are all in school. She has been farming for the past twelve years, producing bananas, coffee, maize, beans and milk which she sells at the local market in her area.
She is requesting a 40,000 KES loan from Juhudi kilimo to purchase poultry birds. She will sell them and earn extra income that will help her uplift her living standards and pay for her children's education. She aspires to be the leading poultry products supplier in her area in the next five years.
Insufficient funds, pests and diseases are her major challenges in farming.
Eunice believes that the funding from Juhudi kilimo will help her fight poverty.
To facilitate a partnership between Kiva and Juhudi Kilimo, K-Rep Group (Juhudi Kilimo’s 100% owner) has guaranteed Kiva funds in the event of institutional default. Lenders should be aware that the risk of borrower default remains borne by the lender.
