Junito, 40 years old, is a married entrepreneur of Tonggo, Tudela. He has three children. He makes his living from his gardening business. He has run the business for almost four years now and he earns PHP 4,000 a month.
To improve business, he is borrowing the amount of PHP 10,000 from GDMPC micro-credit, which he just joined recently. Junito is taking the loan in order to buy seedlings and fertilizer. Before long, he’s hopeful about the possibility of expanding his business.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
