Erina is single with four children, three of whom attend school. She lives in Kampala, Uganda, and is not looking after any other family members. For the past eight years, Erina has been operating a restaurant. She works seven days a week and her business is her only source of income. Erina's business challenges include thieves and seasonality. She rents a house without electricity or running water and her major monthly expenses include rent and school fees. Erina is requesting a 900,000 UGX loan from MCDT- SACCO to buy rice, beans, ground nuts, cow peas, beef, green bananas, sweet and Irish potatoes, chicken, cooking oil, and charcoal. Her dream is to own a big hotel.
