Allen lives in Kampala, Uganda. She is married and has five children and all of them are attending school. She is also looking after her parents and her sister. She stays with her husband and the family has access to both electricity and piped water. Her major monthly expenses include school fees.
She has been keeping poultry for retail at home for the last four years, working seven days a week. She also has rental houses as an additional source of income.
She has requested for a loan of UGX 300,000 from MCDT-SACCO to enable her buy more bags of chicken feed.
Her challenges include seasonality, transportation and diseases. Her dream is to increase the number of birds she keeps and start selling chicken feed at both wholesale and retail.
She joined MCDT because she did not have enough capital to support her business.
