Sarah lives in Kampala, Uganda. She is single with four children and all of them are attending school. She is not looking after any additional family members. She has been selling local gin in the market at wholesale for the last ten years, working seven days a week. She does not earn any additional income.
She has requested a loan of UGX 2,000,000 from MCDT- SACCO to enable her buy more jerycans of local gin for sale. Her challenges include transportation and defaulters. Her dream is to buy a delivery van to ease in transportation and also to build her own house. She joined MCDT because the loan interest is relatively low. She stays in a rented house with access to electricity but no piped water. Her major monthly expenses include school fees and rent.
