Good day to you. The group "Mujeres Empresarias" [Enterprising Women] is comprised of 9 entrepreneurial and enthusiastic women passing to their 5th cycle. Gladys is one of the members and is in the back row; she is the third from the left side and is wearing a short-sleeved floral shirt.

Gladys is 56 years old, married, and has 2 children, one of whom is school-aged. Gladys makes a living selling lingerie. It all began when she was working in a lingerie store. With the experience she acquired and the good use of her income she was able to start her own business. Thanks to her work she can continue supporting her son in his education. Her greatest wish is to move her lingerie store to a more commercial location.

She solicited the credit to buy underwear, bras, and socks. She thanks Kiva lenders for their support since it makes her progress possible.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
