Farida lives in Kampala, Uganda. She is married with six children, and three of them attend school. She is also looking after her sibling.
Farida has been selling yellow bananas at retail from home for the last eight years, working seven days a week. She also earns income from rental houses. She has requested a loan of UGX 500,000 from MCDT- SACCO to enable her buy more bunches of sweet bananas for sale. Her challenges include seasonality.
Her dream is to capture a bigger market in her area and accumulate profits for bigger projects. She joined MCDT because it was easy for her to become a member. She lives in her husband's house with access to electricity but no piped water. Her major monthly expenses are school fees.
