Juliet lives in Kampala, Uganda. She is married with eight children, all of whom attend school. She is also looking after her mother. She lives in a rented house with access to electricity but no piped water. Her major monthly expenses are rent and school fees.
Juliet has been operating a restaurant in the market for 10 years, working seven days a week. She does not have any other source of income. She has requested a loan of UGX 500,000 from MCDT- SACCO to enable her stock more rice, Irish potatoes, flour and charcoal. Her challenges include seasonality and transportation. Her dream is to own a restaurant. She joined MCDT because of their interest in raising the standard of living of women by encouraging them to do business.
