Cate lives in Kampala, Uganda. She is married and has three children, none of whom attend school. She is also looking after her mother.
Cate has been selling green bananas in the market for ten years, working seven days a week. She does not have any other source of income.
Cate has requested a loan of UGX 600,000 from MCDT- SACCO to enable her to stock more green bananas for resale. Her challenges include transport and seasonality. Her dream is to sell at wholesale as well. Friends inspired her to join MCDT. Cate lives in a rented house with access to both electricity and piped water. Her major monthly expenses are rent, food, electricity, and school fees.
