Harriet lives in Kampala, Uganda. She is married with two children and both of them attend school. She is looking after a niece.
Harriet has been operating a clinic for humans for ten years, working seven days a week. She also keeps poultry and practices agriculture for side income.
She has requested a loan of UShs 2,000,000 from MCDT- SACCO to enable her to stock more drugs and replace depreciated equipment. Her challenges include high transport costs and recovering payment from debtors.
Harriet's dream is to own a bigger clinic and employ nurses and other staff. She joined MCDT because interest charged on loans is relatively low. She lives in a rented house with access to both electricity and piped water. Her major monthly expenses are rent and school fees.
