Edith lives in Kampala, Uganda. She is single with five children who are too old to be in school. She is looking after her grandchildren.
Edith has been selling charcoal from door to door at both retail and wholesale prices for six years, working six days a week. She also has rental houses for additional income.
She has requested a loan of UShs 2,000,000 from MCDT- SACCO to enable her to stock more bags of charcoal for sale. Her challenges include seasonality and late payments. Her dream is to accumulate profits to enable her to build more houses to rent out. She joined MCDT to access credit and save money. She stays in her own house with access to electricity and piped water. Her major monthly expenses include school fees.
