Living in a rural area of Tbaung Khmum district in Kampong Cham, Sembern is 52 years old and married with two children. The main source of her family’s income is from rice farming on two hectares of farmland while her husband works as a carpenter to earn additional income for the family. They have been in these businesses for 19 years. The current business earns her family approximately 18,000KHR per day and manages them to save about 9,000KHR each day after daily expenses.

This is the first micro loan for Sembern with VisionFund. She is requesting a loan of 1,100 USD. With this loan, she is going to buy a scrape machine for her husband’s business and use a portion of it to spend on rice harvest labor fees. She hopes this loan will enable her to earn more income for the family to improve their standard of living.
