Nuru lives in Kampala, Uganda. She is single with four children and three of them are attending school. She also looks after her sibling.
She has been selling green bananas in the market at retail for ten years, working seven days a week. Nuru does not have any other source of income.
She has requested a loan of 2,000,000 UGX from MCDT- SACCO to enable her to buy more bunches of green bananas for sale.
Nuru's challenges include seasonality. Her dream is to be a wholesaler.
She joined MCDT because of their interest in working with the low income earning group of people. She stays in her own house without access to either electricity or piped water. Nuru's major monthly expenses include school fees.
