Rose lives in Kampala, Uganda. She is married with seven children and all of them attend school. She is not looking after additional members of the family.
She has been selling charcoal in the market at retail for five years, working seven days a week. She also collects rent from her houses as additional income.
She has requested a loan of 2,000,000 UGX from MCDT-SACCO to enable her to stock more sacks of charcoal for sale. Rose's challenges include seasonality and transportation of bags of charcoal.
Rose's dream is to be able to stock charcoal that fills a lorry and also to become a wholesaler. She lives in her husband`s house with access to electricity and no piped water. Her major monthly expenses include food and school fees.
