Daniel
Daniel is not married, but he and his partner have been in a relationship for several years. They have four children. Daniel lives in a rental property that has six rooms with stucco walls and a combination of hardwood and cement floors. The house is located in the District of Ciudad Satelite in the city of El Alto.

Daniel currently works as an independent driver for a taxi line that is part of one of the transportation unions. He works all day and generates an income. His partner sells plush toys, but she does not work on a continuous basis. Both of them contribute to the expenses, such as basic services for their family and the education of their children.

The loan he is requesting will be used to repair and maintain his vehicle. He will buy tires, replace the fluids, and provide general maintenance. His vehicle is his source of income, so it helps him improve his quality of life. Daniel’s dream is to acquire a store where his partner can sell her goods and generate more income.

This is the first time he has requested a loan from IMPRO and Kiva.

About IMPRO

IMPRO is a small non-profit organization that has been offering micro credit to the working poor in the Bolivian cities of La Paz and El Alto since 1995. IMPRO’s goal is to fight poverty by offering loans to small business owners who cannot access credit through the regular banking system due to a lack of guarantees or collateral.

To ensure that everyone has access to credit, IMPRO maintains a low interest rate by minimizing operational costs. IMPRO’s partnership with Kiva, which began in 2007, has allowed IMPRO to expand its services while maintaining these low interest rates.
