Ali is a 35-year-old Lebanese man. He’s married, living with his wife and four children. The children are all attending school. He’s trying the best he can to enhance the family’s way of living. He has been working as a blacksmith for a few years and doing the best he can to improve and develop himself.
As he wants to enlarge his business and grow in his occupation as well, Ali decided to take a loan from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l to purchase added metal for his business. He wishes to take on bigger projects and offer his children whatever they ask for; that is the reason why he’s in real need to amplify his income in order to be able to make the needed savings and achieve his goals.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
