Shaban is a 32-year-old married man with three children whose ages range from six months to 10 years. He describes himself as a social and business-oriented man. For the past eight years, Shaban has operated a carpentry workshop where he makes and sells furniture such as beds, chairs, doors, and other items. His business is in a rural area and his primary customers are local residents. Shaban's his biggest business challenge is the lack of enough raw material to make furniture to sell.
Shaban is requesting a 20,000 KES loan to buy wood to make furniture. This is his first loan with SMEP DTM. Shaban's business goal is to expand his business within five years.
