Mahmoud is a 38-year-old Lebanese man. He’s married, living with his wife and one child. He is trying his best to bring added income to the family and enhance their way of living.
He has been working as a blacksmith for a few years and doing the best he can to improve and develop himself. Despite his tough work tasks, Mahmoud doubles his effort in order to better support his family.
Since he wants to enlarge his business and grow his work as well, he decided to take a loan from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l. to purchase the needed metal supplies to carry on his work in a proper way. Mahmoud wishes to live a better life; this is the reason he needs to amplify his income in order to be able to make the needed savings.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
