Rima is a 31-year-old Lebanese married woman living with her husband and one child. She’s facing bad financial conditions especially because of the heavy cost of living.
In 2004, she started to work as a beautician. She has her own shop where she provides her customers with her high-quality beauty services. As for her husband, he works in a bakery.
Today she is requesting a loan from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l. to purchase products specialized for hair treatment. This is her first Kiva loan and she is very thankful for the results attained so far. The demand for beauty and fashion products continues to be high and that provides a good chance for Rima to enlarge her business and maybe hire some employees to help her with her job.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
