Bone
Bone is 30 years old and single. He lives in the community of Tako Tako Alto in the province of Mizque in the department of Cochabamba. He lives a solitary life as he doesn’t have any children. He shares his life with his closest relatives – his grandmother, his mother and his nephews – who assist in production as they are able. Also he has a problem with the deformation of the fibula bone which prevents him from walking and working normally. Because of the scarce rains en the previous agricultural season, the flow of underground water has decreased. Bone has lost a large quantity of his production of tomatoes because the community has restricted the water usage to a minimum level which did not cover the water requirement for the production. This has caused a reduction of his income from the sale of these products. For the reasons mentioned, his economic stability has suffered a disequilibrium, directly affecting the acquisition of the materials and supplies required for the production such as the basic staples needed to feed the day laborers he employs. Thus he needs a loan to buy agricultural supplies, seeds, etc. to be able to return to sowing.
