Javier
Javier, 54, lives with his wife María in their home in the city of Monteagudo. They make bricks, beams, and laundry tubs with cement and also sell building aggregates (gravel, sand, and stone). They also raise pigs. Javier has four children in college, so they work hard to pay their education and other expenses, in hopes that the children have professional careers and a better life.

They are applying for a loan to plant corn to feed the pigs they are raising on their land. María helps her husband with the work. They will buy better feed for the animals, which should increase income and help them pay for their children's education.
