San Isidro Group
In this Group: Rumualda , Susana , Abrahan , Lourdes , Laudelina , Martimiana, Liliana , Lorenzo , Francisca , Bertha, Yessica
Yessica, who is a member of the San Isidro Group, is 27 years old. She studied through preparatory school level and is a single mother with a small son. Yessica notes that she has always worked to help her parents with household expenses. Now that she has become a mother, of course, she had to search for a way to earn a little more money in order to offer her son a quality life and, in the future, a chance to study. Therefore, with the help of her family, she began to work in her own business. Yessica has established a small cyber cafe in her home.

Yessica is very content, not just because she has her own business, but because through her cyber cafe, she is offering a service to many young people whose community is somewhat remote and who lack access to this type of service. She says that, thank God, with just 2 months in business, little by little, customers have begun to appear. She also notes that sometimes she has to teach some of customers to use the service but she does so with much pleasure, knowing that this will help attract more people to use her business.

She will invest this loan in purchasing printer paper, cartridges, and in the maintenance of computer equipment. Yessica hopes to be able to purchase more equipment in the future in order to expand her business.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
