She has set up a group in order to request a loan that will be used to purchase goods for the store - such as sparkling water, juices, candy, dairy products, cereals, charcuterie, etc. She hopes to always have a business to offer clients from her community the products they need. The other members of the group are tailors and make a variety of garments.

La señora Josefina esta casada, tiene 36 años de edad, no tuvo la oportunidad de estudiar, tiente 5 hijos de los cuales estudian 3, se dedica al comercio a la atención a una tienda quie tiene, que inicio con un poco de capital y que hasta ahora lleva 8 años de experiencia, cuenta con el apoyo de su esposo quien se dedica a la sastrería.

Organiza un grupo para poder solicitar un préstamo que ser utilizado para la compra de producto para tienda, entre ellos aguas gaseosa, jugos, golosinas, lácteos, cereales, embutidos, etc. Espera tener un negocio siempre con clientes y con productos necesarios para su comunidad. Las demás integrantes se dedican a la sastrería, la confección de diferentes tipos de prendas.

About Asociación ASDIR

ASDIR (Asociación de Desarrollo Integral Rural - Association for the Development of Rural Communities) is a community-based organization that works to promote development in the villages and communities where it serves. It was founded in 1999 in the village of Nimasac, Totonicapán Department, by a handful of local men and women to support community projects and group loans. Today ASDIR has 5 offices across 3 departments (Totonicapán, Sololá and Suchitepéquez) serving more than 6,000 clients, most of them in rural communities.
