Toto, 39, is a married woman who lives with her family in the town of Likoni in a house they own. She sells fried potatoes at the market, and thanks to the profits she gets, she has been able to help with the household expenses.
She learned the business from her sister, since she was in that line of work. Then she decided to become independent. Now she has a small locale with a large clientele, since her products are very well-liked.
Toto informs us that the sector isn’t too dangerous, but there is some crime which does concern her. Her future goal is to have a hotel and increase sales.

This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
