Thuy was born in 1953. She has four children who all have their own families. Her husband raises doves and his income is 3,000,000 VND. Thuy grows rice, raises pigs and is environmental cleaner to earn a living. She has done her job for 25 years. Her income is about 3,500,000 VND per month. Her family’s total earnings are about 10,000,000 VND per month.
She has participated in SEDA's credit program since 2008. In the last cycle she borrowed 9,184,000 VND and repaid the loan on time. In this loan cycle, she would like to borrow 9,184,000 VND to buy food for pigs. She has always wanted to raise more pigs and earn more money for her family’s income.
The Center of Small Enterprise Development Assistance (SEDA) is a non-profit organization whose vision is to create “a society without poverty.” Founded in 2004, SEDA provides microfinance services to low-income and disadvantaged people in rural areas of Hanoi and the northern provinces of Vietnam through its Binh Minh Micro-Finance Program.
