Chanthou, 24 years old, is a citizen living in a rural village of the Ponhea Krek district of Kampong Cham province, Cambodia. She is married and has a child.
To earn a living for the family, Chanthou and her husband farm rice and plant cassava and peppers. This couple also has a business buying and selling cassava in order to add more income for the family. The current businesses enables them to earn around 62,000 KHR per day.
This is Chanthou’s first time requesting a loan via VisionFund (Kiva’s partner). She is applying for a loan in the amount of 4,000,000 KHR to buy cassava in order to sell for more profit. Chanthou hopes to be able to expand her farmland so that she can increase her productivity and earn greater income for the family.
