Clavel Group
In this Group: Karen Arely, Alba Luz, Julissa Jakely
Julissa, 29, is a member of the “Clavel” (Carnation) communal bank; she’s married and her husband is a merchant. They are a hardworking, responsible family. She started her business selling snacks and juices and then decided to sell food and the business had good results so she still is selling grilled meat and snacks. She’s open to the public from 4pm until 10pm. The loan Julissa is requesting is to buy products like meat, beans, lard, vegetables and cheese to make the food she offers her customers. With support from the loan she will be able to offer more products to her clientele. The only inconvenience Julissa faces is competition since there’s another place nearby that sells snacks which is why she tries to sell top quality products so her sales won’t be affected. Her goal is to open a restaurant to better care for her customers and offer more products that will satisfy their wishes. This is Julissa’s first loan request to FAMA and she expects to make her installment payments punctually.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
