The communal bank, Urbanizacion Leon will start its first loan cycle with Pro Mujer as part of the Centro Focal de Los Andes. It is comprised of seven members and is led by a board of directors, of which Andrea is the president. The businesses that the communal bank members run are varied and include: clothing sales, chocolate sales, fabric blankets, (cooking) oil sales, shoe sales, and the buying and selling of spare parts.

This loan will benefit the small businesses in their distinct areas. Andrea is a member; she says that she joined Pro Mujer a year ago, joining because of an invitation from a friend who is a member of the organization. Now she (Andrea) has a business buying and selling spare parts. She says that she started this business with her husband, and they are working together.

The loan that they will now take out is to increase their capital to purchase spare parts that they will get at stores that sell the parts wholesale. They (Andrea and her husband) will later sell the parts in their store. This work helps them generate income to help support their household; Andrea is married and has six children.

When ask what she likes about Pro Mujer, Andrea said that she likes the loans that are made through the group.

La A.C. “URBANIZACIÓN LEÓN” iniciará el primer ciclo en Pro Mujer, como parte del Centro Focal de Los Andes, está compuesta por siete integrantes y está dirigida por una mesa directiva donde la señora Andrea es la Presidenta. Los negocios que las integrantes de la asociación comunal llevan adelante son variados entre ellos existen: venta de ropa, venta de chocolate, tejido de mantas, venta de aceite, venta de zapatos, compra y venta de repuestos.

El crédito que sacaran beneficiara a pequeñas microempresarias con distintos rubros, donde la señora Andrea es parte integrante, ella indica que hace un año que integra Pro Mujer, ingresando por invitación de una amiga que es socia de la institución. En la actualidad ella tiene un negocio de compra y venta de repuestos, cuenta que este negocio lo emprendió con su esposo y en la actualidad lo trabajan ambos.

El crédito que ahora sacará es para el aumento de capital (compra de repuestos) que adquirirá de las tiendas que venden por mayor y posteriormente lo comercializará en su espacio de venta. Esta forma de trabajo le permite generar recursos para apoyar en lo posible a su hogar pues ella es casada y tiene seis hijos.

Cuando se le consulta qué le gusta de Pro Mujer, ella responde que le gusta el prestamos que se hace en grupo.
