Latifa is a resident of Malindi, Coast Province, Kenya. She is married and a mother of five children. The last born of her children is still in school. Latifa owns rental houses, a business that she has been running for ten years. In addition to this, the family also gets some income from a grocery stall.
She learned about Milango from a friend and joined the institution with the goal of accessing credit in order to improve the operations of her business. The challenge she has been facing is bad debts arising from those who delay on rent payments.
Latifa is applying for a loan of 41,900 Kenya Shillings to renovate her rental houses. The extra income from the loan will be added to her savings to improve the living standard of her family. She aspires to own other grocery stalls in the future and to pay for her children’s needs with a little ease.
