Hasan is a 31-year-old married Lebanese man. He lives with his wife, the mother of his only child who is still in school. Like every couple, Hasan and his wife wish to offer their child a respectable life, far from problems and difficulties. For this reason, they combine forces to be able to afford the heavy life expenses. Hasan opened his own butcher shop in 2003. He is a reputable person who always tries to deliver good and fresh products to his customers. Today, he is asking for a loan from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l. to buy additional products, such as meat, for his business. In that way, he will be able to develop his business and increase his sales. In the future, he plans to raise cattle and start his own dairy products trading business as a parallel job.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
