Majdoline is a 38-year-old woman. She lives with her husband, Samir, and their three children at their house, which is located in one of the beautiful Lebanese villages. Despite everything, Majdoline is obliged to work continually as she is responsible for supporting her husband with their family expenses. Her husband works in floor covering and has more than fifteen years of experience.
Majdoline started to sell clothes from her home to avoid rent expenses. She provides her customers with good quality products at fair prices. She is satisfied with what she has attained so far, even though she wishes to enhance her family’s way of living the most.
That’s the reason why she is asking today for a loan from Kiva Partner, Ameen s.a.l., to purchase a new winter collection. She notes that her sales will increase after these purchases, especially because of the holidays.
In the near future, she wishes to open her own clothing shop and maybe hire new employees to help her achieve the work tasks and therefore earn a higher income.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
