Ermelinda
Ermelinda was born in Cusco District in Cusco Province and Department but currently lives in the city of Lucre. She’s 40-years-old, married and four children are the fruit of this beautiful relationship. Ermelinda has a small restaurant where she prepares lunch. She’s been in business two years now and does very well thanks to the effort she puts in to the restaurant. Ermelinda also sells traditional, regional dishes like ‘chiriuchu’ [a complex dish, bringing together in a towering mountain parched corn, different meats, and food from watery realms; it’s served cold] during patron saint festival days. On this occasion she needs the loan to buy some ingredients like sacks of rice, sacks of sugar and some other things too. Ermelinda’s dream is to buy a house because she currently lives in a rented house. She belongs to Asociación Arariwa’s “Señor de Qoyllority de Lucre” communal bank in the city of Cusco.
