Los Luchadores Del Sector C Group
In this Group: Isabel Lourdes, Bethzabet Catya, Nora, Magda, Zoila Lucia, Luis
This group is the “Los Luchadores del Sector C” (Sector C Fighters). Zoila, 42, lives with her two children and her spouse; both of them are merchants. She has a market stand where she sells all types of footwear for women, men and children. Her business is very busy because the footwear she offers is very good quality and her regular customers are quite aware of this which is why they are loyal to her. With the fruits of her labor she’s been able to buy two stands that are now hers; her husband works in one of them selling cleaning supplies. Zoila feels happy because thanks to her work and much effort she’s managing to move forward with her entire family. In future, she’d like to become a wholesaler and have a store in a good area. The new Edaprospo loan will be used to buy footwear because she wants to be ready for the approaching season when sales are very good. Zoila would like to say: Many thanks to everyone for supporting her communal bank. In the photo, she’s wearing a black and white shirt; she’s third from the left. Mr. Luis appears on the right hand side of the picture in a blue jacket; he also belongs to the group.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
