Ana Maria
María, 45, works making cakes that she sells in the street. She lost her parents when she was very little and spent her childhood with her godparents, Lucho and Maura, who supported her cake-making courses. Since she was little, María enjoyed baking cakes so she had the necessary skills to start her business. She’s been married to José Benito for ten years and they have five children: Piter, 10, Ana, 8, José, 6, Julia, 3 and Adrián, 1, who got sick with a stomach infection and the family has no medical insurance so they spent all their working capital to cure their son’s illness. The present loan is precisely for working capital: to buy flour, eggs, yeast, flavoring agents and others needed very urgently to make cakes and go out and sell them.
