Mariya
Mariya lives in Vinogradovo. She is engaged in agriculture, growing early vegetables for sale; namely tomato, cucumber and cabbage. Mariya has 50 acres of land and five greenhouses. She is married and has two sons. Both sons have congenital eye problems: the eldest son is 27 years old with only 50% vision, while the younger, only 11 years old, has only 30% vision. Consequently, the family always has extra costs.

Mariya needs a loan of 15,000 hryvnia (UAH) in order to purchase seeds, chemical fertilizer, firewood for heating, and plastic sheeting for greenhouses. Mariya eventually hopes to build yet another greenhouse to expand her household business. With the additional profit from these investments, Mariya hopes to invest in vision correction surgery for one of her sons.
