Aem is residing in a rural village of Kandal Stoeng district located in Kandal province, Cambodia. He is 28 years of age and married. Aem is also a father of a daughter and a son, both of whom are school-aged children and still dependent on him.
To earn a decent life for the family, Aem and his wife work as tailors. In order to add more income to the family, Aem also has a business farming rice, in which he has been involving for six years. The current businesses that Aem operates have enabled him to earn around 7 USD per day.
This will be Aem's second time requesting a loan via VisionFund (Kiva's partner). The first loan that he obtained and successfully paid back helped him improve the living conditions of his family. This time, he is applying for a USD 700 loan with VisionFund.
Aem intends to utilize this loan to buy a motorbike for commuting. After receiving and using the loan as he plans, Aem believes that he will be able to commute to the place where he operates his businesses faster and easier.
